Gordon Watt founded Balliol-Watt in April 2005 to offer CIOs a flexible service, to complement and enhance their own insight, vision and values.

Gordon’s corporate ICT career spans many years and industry sectors, starting as an Operational Research Analyst in the early seventies, culminating in the position of Executive Vice-President of T-Mobile International. His sector experience includes communications, financial services, travel, software consultancy, engineering and health services. He has held senior IT roles in companies such as T-Mobile (International and UK), CGU General Insurance (merger of General Accident and Commercial Union), Galileo International and the London Stock Exchange.

Gordon has personally successfully addressed many of the challenges facing CIOs today, from transforming organisations, effecting major changes and driving continuous improvement. Gordon’s key strength is his ability to make IT simple by identifying the critical issues in complex situations.

Gordon likes to compare his role alongside CIOs to that of a sporting coach who observes, appraises, advises and supports development, but leaves it to the team to perform and enjoy success.
